Discovery Channel's "The Ultimate Clubhouse"
Ten-year-old Patrick battles leukemia every day. He receives weekly chemotherapy treatments and spends most of his time recovering at his family's country home in Denham Springs, La. His low immunity after chemotherapy keeps him from visiting many public places, so Patrick enjoys simple pleasures at home. He loves watching LSU football games with his father, Duwane, and he likes being home-schooled by his mother, Bridgette. And Patrick treasures playtime with his 7-year-old brother, Nick, more than anything.
When the family's medical counselor told him about The Rainbow Factory, a nonprofit organization that grants unique wishes to children with cancer, Patrick was inspired. He sent a simple request to Rainbow Factory president, Denneyse Carswell: a three-story clubhouse in his back yard. Patrick described a place where he could relax and play during the day, then watch the stars at night. Mrs. Carswell contacted Monster House with Patrick's wish, and Monster House and our Trimax Building Products team flew to Louisiana to make his dream come true.
Trimax Building Products supplied all the plastic to make the structure, including the posts, girders, joists, stair stringers, railing and decking needed to complete the clubhouse. Due to the heavy humidity and wet conditions in the backyard, Trimax Structural Lumber was the best option to ensure that Patrick's Clubhouse would last for years to come.
